Olympic news: Leman triumphant in Men’s Ski Cross
Canadian Brady Leman topped the podium following a chaotic Men’s Ski Cross final at the PyeongChang Games. Leman saw off fierce competition from Switzerland’s Marc Bischofberger and Olympic Athlete of Russia, Sergey Ridzik who earned Silver and Bronze respectively.
Ridzik collided with Kevin Drury in the final but managed to complete the course to take Bronze. Drury was DNF’d, despite actually making it over the line.
It wasn’t the only crash of a rather chaotic event — Canada’s Christopher Delbosco landed heavily on his back having launched off one of the kickers in the first round. He was stretchered off the course and was later diagnosed as having a broken pelvis. There were other spectacular crashes through the final rounds but Leman kept his nerve to win Gold.
Surprisingly, there was no French skier in the final — just four years after a podium clean-sweep in Sochi.
